Welcome to our Best WordPress Themes series where we’re going to present top professional WordPress templates. Today we will take closer look at Avada – responsive, flexible multipurpose theme built using HTML5 and CSS3.
When I saw Avada for the very first time I’ve noticed instantly how clean, light and modern looking it is. The big Revolution Slider instantly grabs viewer’s attention with animated infographics-like slides. But it is just a tip of the iceberg of Avada’s features.
The biggest strength of Avada is level of customization it offers – I was absolutely stunned by it’s Admin Panel! It allows the user fully customize every aspect of the theme – favicons, colors, fonts and their sizes, excerpt length, social media icons for sharing, sliders and many, many more. Avada was built with SEO in mind, using clean, valid HTML and CSS code to allow search engines easily index your site.
Theme is very easy to install via WordPress theme installer or FTP. Avada’s great feature is ability to import predefined XML data to get the demo up and running quickly – it spares you big disappointment when after installation of a theme it looks nowhere near the demo theme presented on the seller’s page. Usually you need to put lot of effort into theme configuration before it looks as proper website – not in this case. Few clicks in WordPress and here it is – shiny Avada! Just change some texts, images and videos and your page is ready! Great feature for beginners.
Avada theme recognizes the fact that mobile browsers are increasing their market share. The template is fully responsive out of the box (you can turn it off if you want). There are even options for Retina Display, making the theme look amazing on high resolution screens. If you want to change default colors of the theme you can do it quickly and easy using the template options. There are 8 different sets predefined and ready to use. Avada supports 500+ Google Fonts and you can upload your own fonts if needed.
Number of sliders included in Avada is really impressive – it includes 5 different sliders worth of $60 total: Revolution Slider, Layer Slider, Elastic Slider, ThemeFusion slider and FlexSlider2.
Template offers 5 different, customizable headers with social media icons. Avada theme has 3 blog layouts: full width, large and medium image. There is even more portfolio modes: 1 to 4 columns, wide single project and half width single project – both with sliders. Theme itself can be set to wide or boxed – in the second case you can select few background patterns and images.
If you plan to create multilingual site Avada is 100% WPML compatible – plus it comes with 4 different languages already translated, so you can have your site translated almost out of the box!
Most of the functionality you see in the demo is implemented using shortcodes which makes creating your website much easier. Twitter, Flickr, Social Links, Tabs, Accordion and Testimonials are Avada widgets and can be easily put into website just by dragging them into correct place. Worth noting is that Avada supports Pricing Tables – feature you usually have to pay for separately. If you need custom sidebars per page Avada makes it really easy – you can define unlimited number of sidebars and fill them with any widgets you want.
Avada theme comes with over 20 PSD files so you can redesign theme easily. If you encounter any problems you can ask questions on Avada support forum and have them answered very quickly. There is very good documentation available and easy to follow Video Tutorials.
If you need powerful, easy to customize WordPress theme for your business or personal portfolio you should try Avada – we are sure you will love it!
